Flood Mitigation Grant Program
The City of Slidell pursues every opportunity to mitigate properties in our community. Currently, we are preparing an application through the FMA (Flood Mitigation Assistance) grant program. This is a competitive program among applicants from across the country, and there is limited funding available. If the Slidell application is funded, we will be able to offer eligible Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) applicants as much as 100% of your eligible mitigation costs. Repetitive Loss (RL) applicants are eligible for 90% eligible mitigation costs.
There is no guarantee that your project will be included in this year’s application. It will depend on your project costs, number of insured losses, and other inputs into the FEMA Benefit Cost Analysis (BCA). All interested applications will be ranked by BCA and the City will include as many applicants as possible and stay within the limitations of the grant priorities. We will mail you a letter after the application is submitted to let you know if your application was included or not.
